COLLECTION OF HOPE…May 2005 – Is one of my favorite books. This book is about finding hope in moments of adversity. Life is full of joys, but it is also full of adversity. What we do in those moments of adversity molds our character. This character determines how we react to life and its many tests.
I have had many struggles to overcome and have beaten the odds, so to speak, because failure was never an option. No matter what, if you keep the right attitude, perseverance will take over. It’s not a fact for many, but it is a way of life for me. Each struggle grounds us more and teaches us to hold on to hope. There is always light at the end of the tunnel. A tunnel that includes: faith, belief, and hope. Personally, by through learning to make God #1 in my life, I have been able to accomplish so much and move on from my past regrets, struggles, and pains.
While writing “Collection of Hope,” I found myself in a great amount of spiritual pain. My grandmother, who was my first experience of love, had just passed and
I found it very difficult to process at such a young age. I realized, the more I began to accept this universal order of life and death, the more I was able to cope.
Throughout “Collection of Hope,” readers will find poems varying from, hope, love, loss, and the grieving process. All of these aspects of life are important as they all attribute to the process of universal healing. The challenge will be holding on to hope when you get disappointed, faced with loss of loved ones, failed relationships, etc. In time you will see, as I have, that hope is a positive word and only truly works when it is connected to the negative things in life. Things we will all have to face as human beings.
