THE THIRTEENTH DAY…A NOVEL…TO BE RELEASED 2010…

The Thirteenth Day is a novel surrounding a cover up and conspiracy that occurred during World War 2. In 1943, America lost its largest mass of humankind in one day. The story begins with Lola. Lola, who was a toddler at the time her brother Hanson went off to war, grew up believing along with the remainder of the family that Hanson died fighting for his country. Nearly half a Century later, she learns from a mysterious letter that her brother did not die in War but at the hands of a cover up by the U.S. military.

In a grim world of Jim Crowe’s south, where race once mattered more than peace and harmony, rested a deep depression. The depression of fear and hatred once spread through the spirit and deep rooted in the soul. The Thirteenth Day examines what happens when lies and deceit turn into forgiveness and understanding. When the truth comes to the light through murder, tragedy, and the dead speaking from their graves, there is no mistaking that the past has an important lesson you us all to learn.

In The Thirteenth Day, I took a non-fictional story and created a fictional character to help bring the truth to the light. A novel jam packed full of conspiracy letters, mysteries and a surprising final four chapters. Eighteen chapters totaling of hope, light, conspiracies, and murder – revealing what happens when tragedy is concealed with lies.

When I explain in brief detail what this book is about, Professors and history buffs alike all say the same thing, “I never heard about this story.” History is important to me and the more I researched the book I realized that it was an actual conspiracy and it made me that more interested. As I wrote this book, it began to play music to my heart and eyes, as I became one with the men of the 364th Infantry. A lot of work, research and dedication were applied in the development of this Novel. I am confident that this book will not only open eyes but will question our American History. Is there truth in our history books? If so, will it be the full story? The Thirteenth Day will have us all examining history and our world, as we know it.

Message from CEO, Founder, Justinah McFadden

Golden Eagle Literary Agency was started after I had visited the United Kingdom several times and realized an important ingredient was missing from the local markets in the United States. While there are a lot of opportunities locally, while in the United Kingdom I was offered so many deals that would have normally taken a few years to have offered to me in a local market. A bell went off in my head, as I began to realize that being offered 5 book deals in a matter of a week is possible if you know how to massage the right markets. I started this agency because I believe that a writers’ thought deserves the proper recognition. This is something that I have passion for and I have experienced myself as a professional writer. Furthermore, I believe it is better to have too many offers than too few offers. The best war is a literary battle over something you have written. It is such a feeling that I cannot put it into words. Golden Eagle soars above the competition taking your work with us. Are you ready to take your work to new heights?

Golden Eagle Literary Agency is an agency geared to help writers take their work to new heights. This agency came about because of the slow movement writers have faced. Golden Eagle offers silver, gold, and platinum packages which introduces a writer’s work to various audiences on their behalf. From New York City to China your work will soar with our marketing tools.

Golden Eagle Literary Agency will promote, market, and introduce your work to new markets – Having your work reach over 100,000 people within one year. If a writer does not have a marketing executive or a website or their work in the search engines (which is all paramount) then they should have their work marketed. The goal is to consciously target your audience and leave your audience applauding. Golden Eagle Literary Agency wishes to help you receive a standing ovation from your audience. We’re taking off! Are you on board with your writing? HIRE GOLDEN EAGLE LITERARY AGENCY…

WE DO NOT RISE… WE SOAR…

Are you a writer? Are you an author of books that you have found are not getting the sales that you would wish them to have? You may be in need of a Literary Agent. Someone who can take your book and allow it to be available to a much larger market that just your family and friends.

For your literary needs, go to http://www.goldeneagleliteraryagency.com/ and find the answers you’ve been looking for. Get your book(s) seen by hundreds of thousands. Get the recognition your books deserve – TODAY!!

THE JOURNEY OF LOVE – JANUARY 2010 – Is a book written for, Lovers. “When your heart is open the possibilities are endless…”

Sometimes you try and love doesn’t always turn out the way you hoped it would, however life is not about focusing on disappointments – it’s about learning the lesson and growing from the disappointments. This book also focuses on Gods love and self love which is needed to truly understand love. When you love yourself, you are less likely to settle or accept less and when you have Gods love you know all things are possible.

“The Journey of Love “ also touches upon something that is very important, Self Love. One must learn to embrace who you are. As a woman of faith, I believe it is important to put God first and yourself second. We often put on our cape and take on the world, saving others, embracing others, and loving others, ultimately leaving ourselves last loved and embraced. This order is incorrect and will eventually cause us pain in the end. God’s love is important as well because until we understand his love or how and why love is designed, we will never know real love. Love is a lot more than a feeling or emotion… it is a sacrament, a decision, and a choice to have an open heart. I say accept yourself for who you truly are and embrace the woman or man within.

I keep a gratitude journal and I write 5 things that I am grateful for each day no matter how horrible the day is. It keeps me balanced allowing me to give gratitude to myself, the universe, and causing me to embrace who I am. When we begin to search for love with god and within our selves it is easier to find true, real, authentic, lasting love. If we aren’t tapped into our own universe, it is impossible for someone to be able to enter our lives.

For example, I have a great man in my life, he’s a companion, friend, lover and a great asset to my life. Nonetheless, I was in love with Justinah, with self, when we met. I was already a focused, driven, determined and independent woman; he simple complemented the things that I already tapped into. Most importantly, I love Justinah, every freckle and eyelash. I never hated myself, but in the past I would pick on my self, as we all at times do. As I grew to love myself more, I learned not to do that and I stopped.

We are who we are and we should be fine with that. I make mistakes, I forgive myself, I do not put myself down and I do not allow others to put me down. Love can be either one of two things: The most misused word in the dictionary or the word made to create greatness and change lives.

Recently, I sat down with the author, in hopes of getting Inside The Mind Of Justinah McFadden. What I found was a mind full of ideals that the most veteran of authors would want to examine. This lady has what it takes to make the NY Times Bestselling Author list. Read my interview with Justinah McFadden and see for yourself, a star in the making. -Nicole S. Ross

How old were you when you began writing?

I was eight years old when I first began writing poetry. I started to read about the Harlem Renaissance and I fell in love with the writing of Langston Hughes and it was over from there. In 3rd Grade my teacher Mrs. Smith asked each student to write one short story about any topic. I ended up writing an entire book over the weekend and when I showed it to Mrs. Smith, I will never forget the look in her eyes as she congratulated me. I can also remember how proud my mother was that I had written a book at 8 YEARS OLD. I knew I had a gift from God and it was a gift that I have opened everyday of my life since then.
What influenced you to start writing?

I had a difficult childhood and hard upbringing and writing has always been like an escape to me. I’ve always enjoyed creating characters and writing poetry, stories and being free with my thoughts. Not only was it a way to escape my reality it was always a release. How we all need oxygen to live, is how I need to write my thoughts. It’s something that I truly could never live without.

What forms of writing do you prefer? Poetry or Novels?

I have written five poetry books and I am currently working on my second Novel so I suppose I like both. Poetry has been a first love of mine for a while. However, I have always loved to create characters in my head and watch them grow. While I love all my books they all hold a different meaning to them. A meaning which is close to my heart and that I choose to share with the world.

Who are your favorite writers?
Wally Lamb, Toni Morrison, Langston Hughes, Shakespeare, God, Maya Angelou, Justinah McFadden ) and all the writers under Collection of Thoughts because I truly believe in their work and vision.

What have you accomplished as an author since you began?

I have accomplished so much as an author since I have entered the world of publishing. My first book had a bit of a bumpy road, but now that I am currently writing my 7th book it is smooth sailing. I realize that although I am a writer, life does take its course and no matter what, I kept writing and chasing my dream. With my first book I knew I was a good writer, but I was not as confident of a writer as I am today. I now know who I am as I have worked on myself and taken my writing to new heights by being in my truth. I have made Poet Of The Year every year since 1999 until 2009. In 2008 I was named an Ambassador of Poetry by the International Library of Congress. My biggest achievement thus far was going to London and having my poetry books listed in the Germany Book Fair. Many blessings have come from my experiences in London and New York, and through chasing my dreams. I am hungry and it’s not just for food, but a hunger for my dreams to come true. So here’s to my future, you look beautiful.

How do you feel your books will influence others and what type of message are you trying to send to writers?

I am trying to send the message that you need faith, hope, and belief to make it in this world and to make any of your dreams come true. I also send light to the world through my writing by being so honest and revealing layers of my soul. The message is clear WHEN WE CHANGE OUR THOUGHTS WE CHANGE OUR WORLD. Each character, and every sentence is created to teach a lesson and have readers examine their own world.

Tell us about your most recent book. Do you plan to continue writing?

My latest book is “The Journey of Love”, which is about what happens when your heart is open. The possibilities are endless with an open heart. This book was written for Valentines Day 2010. “The Thirteenth Day”, is a Novel… my first Novel.. surrounding a conspiracy during World War II. Through secret letters from the past, presidents, and conspiracies, this book reveals a secret that occurred on a spring day in May during Jim Crowes’ South. Through murder, redemption, and a mystery so huge, it has readers excited to turn the next page. This book examines history, class and race in America, with proof that there is healing when the truth comes to the light. My second novel is “The Hour of Retribution”, which is a sequel to The Thirteenth Day…the conspiracy continues.

What advice would you give to your fans and readers about writing and becoming a published author?

My advice is to do as much research as you can and to NOT waste any time finding a reason not to pursue your dream. Take what you have and find a way. I also recommend knowing what you’re writing, why you’re writing it, what type of story you are trying to tell. My point is, be aware of your goals and what it is that you hope to accomplish as an author. I also recommend that a writer treat each project like a car they were saving for. Create a budget for the publishing, and marketing costs of your books. Begin to market yourself with a website, blogs, etc. Most importantly, you must believe in your work and believe in yourself. I always tell my clients at Collection of Thoughts that it’s impossible to sell, promote, something that you’re not excited about. Get excited about your work and take it seriously, write everyday, don’t find excuses, find the time. Most importantly, create a vision and if you can see yourself on Oprah’s sofa telling her about your book you will be there. It’s hard work and the publishing road is a journey, but its a road to GREATNESS.

Any plans for the future?

To grow and expand my domestic violence organization. Save thousands of victims from abusive relationships. I also know that my publicist firm will excel and reach levels of paramount success. I also plan to write a few screen plays, wrestle with being an actress, continue to work on my poetry, and become a lawyer with a focus in Civil Rights. I can also see myself being a mother and a wife someday soon, but until then I am just focused on God, my dreams, family and friends. Life has never been better.

COLLECTION OF HOPE…May 2005 – Is one of my favorite books. This book is about finding hope in moments of adversity. Life is full of joys, but it is also full of adversity. What we do in those moments of adversity molds our character. This character determines how we react to life and its many tests.

I have had many struggles to overcome and have beaten the odds, so to speak, because failure was never an option. No matter what, if you keep the right attitude, perseverance will take over. It’s not a fact for many, but it is a way of life for me. Each struggle grounds us more and teaches us to hold on to hope. There is always light at the end of the tunnel. A tunnel that includes: faith, belief, and hope. Personally, by through learning to make God #1 in my life, I have been able to accomplish so much and move on from my past regrets, struggles, and pains.

While writing “Collection of Hope,” I found myself in a great amount of spiritual pain. My grandmother, who was my first experience of love, had just passed and
I found it very difficult to process at such a young age. I realized, the more I began to accept this universal order of life and death, the more I was able to cope.

Throughout “Collection of Hope,” readers will find poems varying from, hope, love, loss, and the grieving process. All of these aspects of life are important as they all attribute to the process of universal healing. The challenge will be holding on to hope when you get disappointed, faced with loss of loved ones, failed relationships, etc. In time you will see, as I have, that hope is a positive word and only truly works when it is connected to the negative things in life. Things we will all have to face as human beings.
