The Thirteenth Day – A Novel

THE THIRTEENTH DAY…A NOVEL…TO BE RELEASED 2010

The Thirteenth Day is a novel surrounding a cover up and conspiracy that occurred during World War 2. In 1943, America lost its largest mass of humankind in one day. The story begins with Lola. Lola, who was a toddler at the time her brother Hanson went off to war, grew up believing along with the remainder of the family that Hanson died fighting for his country. Nearly half a Century later, she learns from a mysterious letter that her brother did not die in War but at the hands of a cover up by the U.S. military.

In a grim world of Jim Crowe’s south, where race once mattered more than peace and harmony, rested a deep depression. The depression of fear and hatred once spread through the spirit and deep rooted in the soul. The Thirteenth Day examines what happens when lies and deceit turn into forgiveness and understanding. When the truth comes to the light through murder, tragedy, and the dead speaking from their graves, there is no mistaking that the past has an important lesson you us all to learn.

In The Thirteenth Day, I took a non-fictional story and created a fictional character to help bring the truth to the light. A novel jam packed full of conspiracy letters, mysteries and a surprising final four chapters. Eighteen chapters totaling of hope, light, conspiracies, and murder – revealing what happens when tragedy is concealed with lies.

When I explain in brief detail what this book is about, Professors and history buffs alike all say the same thing, “I never heard about this story.” History is important to me and the more I researched the book I realized that it was an actual conspiracy and it made me that more interested. As I wrote this book, it began to play music to my heart and eyes, as I became one with the men of the 364th Infantry. A lot of work, research and dedication were applied in the development of this Novel. I am confident that this book will not only open eyes but will question our American History. Is there truth in our history books? If so, will it be the full story? The Thirteenth Day will have us all examining history and our world, as we know it.
